Yuta’s existence took a dark dive when Rika Orimoto, his friend since they were kids, passed away tragically. The unexpected thing is Rika didn’t completely vanish; instead, she transformed into a powerful curse spirit, heavily bonded to Yuta. This transformation puts Yuta on the radar of other strong curses, turning his daily life into a never-ending fight.
Think it like this, living with a super powerful, yet incredibly harmful ghost buddy. That sums up Yuta’s experience. Rika is the cursed spirit tied to him, and her strength is out of this world. She can act as a protector or an attacker, based on the circumstances. Yuta’s talent to command Rika and use her ability effectively sets him apart as a formidable sorcerer.

This shocker came after Gojo was seemingly bested by Sukuna, tearing him in half. Yuta stepped up, using a newfound skill from defeating Kenjaku – body-swapping. By moving his consciousness into Gojo’s body form, Yuta brought Gojo back into action.
He combined Gojo’s massive “Limitless” ability with his own cursed energy. The move shifted the balance of the fight against Sukuna. This twist triggered plenty of speculation among fans, yet one thing’s certain. Yuta’s bold moves uplifted him to a starring role in the JJK world.
Yuta, A Fan Favourite
Yuta Okkotsu wasn’t the initial MC in this story, but globally, people have embraced him. His journey is easy to connect with, switching from an uneasy teen to a powerful sorcerer.
Yuta has a complicated bond with Rika, a dark past, and an enduring desire to protect his loved ones. This makes him a very likable character.
His growth, change, and unique battle skillset win fans appreciation. Even though Gojo Satoru has a greater fan base, Yuta’s fame is gradually climbing. His role provides a new insight on the Jujutsu Kaisen world, with fans keen to explore more.
Clearly, Yuta Okkotsu isn’t merely mimicking Gojo; he’s cherished as a separate character with a significant effect on the series.
Is Yuta Dead? (Chap: 262)
There’s no clear answer in the manga so far. He indeed took a big hit in battle, but we have yet to count him out. Lots hope he’ll bounce back because of his bond with Rika and his impressive grit. This suspense sure is keeping us all guessing!
