Vijay was the highest-paid Tamil actor and India’s second-highest revenue-generating movie star in 2023. Unluckily, he made the announcement of his retirement from the cinema in February 2024.
Though he will not be on the list of next year’s highest-paid Indian actors, Vijay’s 30 years of contribution the Indian cinema will be highly admired for a long time.
Vijay got his big breakthrough from the 1997 romance drama Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, he also won the best Actor title at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for that.
However, he moved forward to establish himself as a lead role actor and done successful movies, including Thuppakki (2012), Kaththi (2014), and Mersal (2017), for which he received so many Best Actor awards and nominations between 2013–2018.
His latest movie Leo, was also loved by the public and generated around $7 million in revenue worldwide.
