OpenAI has officially launched Sora, its AI text-to-video generator, available to the public as part of the “12 days of OpenAI” campaign. Initially announced nine months ago, Sora’s release was delayed for safety testing.
Now, users can access this advanced tool at sora.com without needing a separate subscription; existing ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can begin using it immediately.
Key Features of Sora AI
1. Video Generation:
It allows users to create AI-generated videos up to 20 seconds long in resolutions of 480p, 720p, and 1080p. While generating Full HD videos takes a few minutes, lower resolution videos can be produced more quickly.

2. Text and Media Input:
Users can enter detailed text prompts to generate videos or upload their own images and videos to create new content based on the uploaded media. However, Sora has strict guidelines prohibiting the upload of media featuring individuals without consent, as well as content that includes violence, explicit themes, or copyright materials. 3. Remix Feature:
The Remix functionality allows users to add new prompts to existing videos, enabling them to recreate and modify previously generated content. Users can adjust the “Remix strength” to control the intensity of these edits.

Currently, Sora is operational in nearly all regions except for the UK and Europe. ChatGPT Plus users can generate up to 50 videos per month at 720p resolution with a maximum duration of 5 seconds each, while Pro users have a higher limit of 500 videos per month at 1080p resolution and 20 seconds each.
