The Force is getting stronger with the new Star Wars show called The Acolyte. It will explore the secrets and troubles of the High Republic era. Before the Skywalker Saga, the show is about a Jedi trying to find out things in a galaxy that is almost turning bad. Who are the important people in this story?
Let’s explore the Cast of The Acolyte who will determine the future of the Force. Stay tuned to the end.
The Lead Character: Verosha “Osha” and Mae-ho “Mae” Aniseya (Amandla Stenberg)
Talented Amandla Stenberg plays the mysterious Aniseya twins, Verosha (Osha) and Mae-ho (Mae), who are the top leaders. Torn apart by a sad event when they were young, their lives take very different directions. Osha used to be a student of Jedi Master Sol. She struggles with her feelings about the Force and decides to leave the Jedi Order.
On the other hand, it looks like Mae has passed away tragically and people think she is dead. But there is a surprising turn of events – Mae comes back, using the dark side very well and powerfully. Stenberg’s careful preparation for both roles is impressive. She watched Star Wars movies and read about them a lot for her preparation. She also made up stories about each character for characterization.
She used the yin and yang philosophy to showcase Mae as the emotional twin and Osha as a tough twin who generally hides her emotions. This means the two sisters have an intriguing relationship where one is struggling to be good and the other is being bad.

Jedi Masters and Guardians: Cast of The Acolyte
Sol (Lee Jung-Jae)
Mastering the balance between control and compassion is the trait of Jedi Master Sol. Initially, Lee was surprised by creator Leslye Headland’s vision for him based on his contrasting role in Squid Game but Jung-Jae took the challenge. He underwent rigorous training with dialect coaches for months and mastered English to deliver nuanced a performance. He took cues from iconic Jedi Masters like Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), and Jung-Jae collaborated with Headland to portray Sol’s complex emotions. His struggle to guide Osha and Mae while maintaining the Jedi’s control over their feelings adds a layer of depth to his character.
Yord Fandar (Charlie Barnett):
A loyal Jedi Knight by the book where Yord Fandar serves as the temple guardian who upholds the Order’s traditions. His by-the-rules approach may clash with the complexities of the unfolding situation but creates an intriguing tension within the Jedi ranks.
Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss):
A complex Jedi Master known for her mastery of Force combat and Indara takes in a warrior spirit akin to Trinity from The Matrix (another iconic role played by Moss). Headland intended her to be perceived as the most powerful Jedi in the room which established an immediate sense of awe for the viewers and set the bar high right from the start. Unfortunately, Indara’s fate takes a tragic turn because her death by Mae serves as a harsh reminder of the vulnerabilities of even the most skilled Jedi. This unexpected turn forces the audience to question their assumptions about who is truly “good” and “bad” in this morally ambiguous galaxy.
Jecki Lon (Dafne Keen):
Jecki Lon takes on the mantle of Padawan learner from Osha. She takes in the future generation of Jedi and her unique heritage including half-human and half-Theelin adds a touch of diversity to the Jedi ranks.
Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson):
A seasoned Jedi Master who rose to prominence as a prodigy and Vernestra Rwoh provides guidance and wisdom to her fellow Jedi. Her experience will be a valuable asset in the face of the emerging threats.

Sith and Force Witches
Qimir (Manny Jacinto)
Fueling Mae’s descent into darkness is her Sith master, Qimir, portrayed by Manny Jacinto. Qimir operates under the guise of a smuggler and skillfully conceals his true allegiance. His role as Mae’s mentor raises questions about the extent of Sith’s influence during this period and the potential threats lurking beneath the surface of the seemingly peaceful High Republic.

A different kind of power emerges with Mother Aniseya where leader of a coven of Force witches played by Jodie Turner-Smith. The Force manifests differently for these witches and creates an intriguing dynamic with the Jedi Order. Whether Mother Aniseya and her coven will collaborate with or oppose the Jedi remains to be seen. Their unique connection to the Force adds another layer of complexity to the unfolding narrative.
Rayencourt (David Harewood)
Not everyone in the Republic fully trusts the Jedi’s role. Senator Rayencourt, acted by David Harewood represents this doubt. He is part of a group in the Republic that is getting bigger and is starting to doubt the Jedi’s power and their role in the galaxy. His being on the show makes it more interesting because it shows how the Jedi might have problems with the Republic they are supposed to protect.
The Impactful Figures: Explore the Mysteries

Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo):
Adding a touch of Wookiee wisdom is Kelnacca, played by Joonas Suotamo. This solitary Jedi chooses to live apart from the Jedi Order which suggests a potential conflict in philosophies or a desire to pursue a different path. Whether Kelnacca will emerge from his seclusion and join the fight against the emerging darkness remains to be seen.
Mother Koril (Margarita Levieva) and Mog (Harry Trevaldwyn):
The cast also includes Mother Koril played by Margarita Levieva and Mog played by Harry Trevaldwyn.
